An effective coach, facilitator, keynote speaker, and presenter, Dr. Colón-Mollfulleda is a dementia advocate dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and helping create a future without Alzheimer’s. She is a long-term participant of the annual The Longest Day and Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising events sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association. She currently serves as a member of The Longest Day Committee in the state of Georgia.
This proud Puerto Rican holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Puerto Rico (1990), a Master of Public Administration from The University of Akron in Ohio (1992), and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Urban Studies and Public Affairs—also from The University of Akron (2008). During her distinguished career with the Social Security Administration (SSA), she was among a selected group of Hispanics/Latinos appointed to the United States Senior Executive Service (SES) in fiscal year 2012—becoming a member of the elite group of men and women at the top levels of the federal government. At the SES, she proudly served as Deputy Regional Commissioner and Acting Regional Commissioner in the Rocky Mountain and the Pacific Northwest regions. She led an organization of more than 2,000 employees in over 100 SSA offices across ten states and ensured the delivery of accurate, courteous, compassionate, and timely customer service to 5.5 million people. She built successful coalitions at SSA as Executive Champion for the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Council and with other federal agencies as an active member of the Colorado Federal Executive Board.
She lives with her husband and their rescue dogs in Pooler, Georgia.
